It’s Easter and Passover weekend, as well as the Pirates first home game of the season. Here are some entertaining ways to spend it.
A dog-gone good time
The Doggie Easter Egg Hunt is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the dog park and north lot at SouthSide Works. There will be treats, prizes and pet vendors.
The fenced-in park has with walking paths and a small dog play area. There is an open-air patio and a mobile taproom by Levity Brewing with six beers on tap. It will be open from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
The dog park is free. Hours are 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

‘The Devil Is A Lie’
Quantum Theatre presents “The Devil Is A Lie,” by playwright Jennifer Chang, at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at The Tenant Innovation Center in the Frick Building, Downtown. It is the final show of Quantum’s 2022-2023 season.
The character George Fast, a businessman, finds payment for his soul is due upon receipt, and the devil is a disrupter. Audience members are invited to contribute by answering poll questions via their smart phones. The questions reflect on things such as social status, cultural marginalization, and ethical decisions and blur the lines between what is real and what’s not.

‘Steel Magnolias’
“Steel Magnolias,” presented by the Pittsburgh Public Theater is at 8 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday at The O’Reilly Theater, Downtown.
Join Truvy, played by Robyne Parrish, and company as they take on laughter, strife, drama, triumphs, and the world, armed with laughter, tears, lots of hairspray, and their greatest strength — each other.

Speakeasy is a show that invites Pittsburgh storytellers to share a true story while disc jockey Fadewell and musician Feralcat along with a full band provide a real time soundtrack.
Humor columnist Alan Olifson will host the event and interview storytellers Melanie White and Kelly Trumbull. White has a background in the performing arts, communications, and academia. Trumbull is a multi-disciplinary theater artist.
Times are 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday at Arcade Comedy Theater, Downtown.
Tickets are $21, $16 for college students.

Free skate
105.9 The X, the radio home of the Pittsburgh Penguins, is hosting a free ice skating event at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. There will also be free skate rental.
Guests can get a photo with the Easter bunny and the Pens’ mascot, Iceburgh.
Some of the on-air talent will be there to provide entertainment. Donations will be accepted to help raise funds to X-Out cancer, benefitting the Mario Lemieux Foundation.
