Bradford Woods is seeking a resident to fill a vacancy on the board that makes appointments to advisory groups when council is unable to agree on a candidate to fill the position.

By law, council is responsible for filling vacancies on boards and commission within 30 days of the position becoming open.

If they fail to make an appointment, the decision goes to the Vacancy Board, which is made up of council members, excluding the mayor, and a resident who serves as the board’s chair and can cast the deciding vote if a tie occurs.

The Vacancy Board only meets on an as-needed basis.

Residents who serve on the board must be registered to vote.

To apply for the volunteer position on the Vacancy Board, send and email of interest to: bradfordwoods@zoominternet.net.

Letters of interest also can be sent by mail to: Bradford Woods Borough, P.O. Box 163, Bradford Woods, PA, 15015.

The deadline to apply is Jan. 11.

For more information, email borough manager Natalie Theiss or call her at 724-935-2990.
