Allegheny County is playing host to a drive-in style laser light show synchronized to holiday music at North Park to help get families into the holiday spirit.

The 45-minute show will be held nightly between Dec. 10 and 20 in the swimming pool parking lot. Performances will be held nightly starting at 6, 7:30, 9 and 10:30 p.m.

Only one ticket is needed for each vehicle attending the shows. All covid-19 safety protocols must be followed by people attending the event.

Tickets cost $20 per vehicle for Allegheny County residents and $25 for non-residents. Commercial vehicles such as buses or limousines are permitted.

Register online to attend.

Following are some other holiday activities sponsored by the county:

Hartwood Holiday concert online

Allegheny County couldn’t host its annual holiday music events because of the restrictions on large gatherings because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead, the performance was recorded and broadcast on local television Nov. 29.

The full show featuring local vocalist Chris Jamison, who was a 2014 finalist on NBC’s “The Voice,” as well as artists BayTay and Ayesha Scott can be viewed on YouTube.

A behind-the-scenes look with interviews of “A Hartwood Holiday” also can be viewed online.

Raffle benefits Kane residents

Tickets are on sale for the 15th Annual Kane Stocking Raffle, which benefits the Kane Foundation, which raises money to help improve the quality of life for residents living in one of Allegheny County’s Kane nursing centers.

Only 500 tickets are being sold for the “winner-takes-all” raffle based on the first three-digit number drawn during the Pennsylvania lottery’s 7 p.m. broadcast on Dec. 22.

The prizes include $500, lithographs by Steelers player Cameron Heyward, overnight stays at The Giacomo Hotel and the Staybridge Suites in Niagara Falls, gift certificates to nearly two dozen restaurants, gift cards and tickets for a dozen local businesses and recreational attractions and numerous home appliance and other electronics.

Tickets cost $20 each and have two numbers, which doubles the chances of winning.
