Deadline approaching to sign up for Ross Twp. youth summer rec program

Slots are still open for kids interested in attending Ross Township’s youth summer recreation program.

May 15 is the deadline to register for weeks two through eight of the program, which will run from June 17 to July 18.

Morning sessions, which will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Monday to Thursday through July 11 at the North Hills High School, feature hands-on learning activities.

The afternoon program runs from 1 to 5 p.m. at the high school and includes physical activities, games and crafts.

An optional field trip will be held on Fridays and can be paid for separately at the time of registration. Weekly trips are planned for to the Carnegie Science Center, Fun Slides, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, the Wildwood Highlands activities center and the Children’s Museum.

Kids also can also go to the Avonworth Pool on Wednesday’s following lunch. Bus transportation will be provided.

The final two weeks of the program is a recreation-only camp at the Ross Community Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
