A representative from Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall in Oakland will be on hand at the next meeting of the North Hills Genealogists Club to demonstrate how military artifacts can be used to learn more about the lives of ancestors who served.

The free program titled “Inside a WWII Foot Locker” runs from 6:45 to 9 p.m. Sept. 16 at La Roche University’s Kearns Spirituality Center.

A staff member from Soldiers & Sailors will bring a footlocker full of unique military artifacts from the museum’s collection focusing on World War II.

The presentation will center on what a soldier’s life was like during the war by examining the equipment they carried.

Kearns is located at the intersection of Babcock Boulevard and Duncan Avenue in McCandless.
