Golf simulator business, comedy club opening soon in Ross
A golf simulation business and a stand-up comedy club are opening this Friday in Ross.
At The Block Northway, 9 Yards Golf will have a soft opening Friday morning for its new location on the upper level of the south corridor.
At Remo’s Event Center on Babcock Boulevard, The Comedy Bar will open that night with comedian Che Durena headlining shows Friday and Saturday.
9 Yards Golf
Doors at 9 Yards Golf will open at 9 a.m. Friday.
Designed to appeal to everyone from avid golfers to those new to the sport, 9 Yards Golf bills itself as the first company in Western Pennsylvania to feature GolfZon TwoVision simulators, which feature moving floor plates, auto-tee, multiple hitting surfaces, putting and video feedback to deliver a hyper-realistic golf experience.
Golf bays can be reserved in advance by calling 724-201-9911 or booked online.
With final touches still being made to the kitchen and bar, players are welcome to bring their own food, beer and wine.
“We couldn’t wait any longer to share 9 Yards Golf with the community,” owner said Joel Warshaw said. “Our goal is to create a unique space where people can connect, play, and have fun. The soft opening gives everyone a chance to check it out early, and we look forward to building excitement for the full launch.”
The Comedy Bar
Founded in 2011 in Chicago, The Comedy Bar opened a location in Detroit in February.
At Remo’s Event Center, 2151 Babcock Blvd., there will be seating for up to 200 guests. It will feature a craft cocktail menu, elevated hors d’oeuvres and free parking.
Durena’s shows will begin at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Production partners and Pittsburgh locals Nicholas Fardo and Michael Gruber have collaborated with The Comedy Bar to produce comedy shows across Pittsburgh over the past year, leading to a permanent home at Remo’s, a family-owned venue for more than 35 years now headed by Nick Mazzoleni.
“We’ve always believed Pittsburgh deserves a comedy club that feels special — not just a night out, but an experience,” said Sahar Lane, co-owner of The Comedy Bar. “We’re thrilled to finally have a space where we can showcase incredible talent week after week and create a go-to destination for comedy lovers at Remo’s.”
The Comedy Bar promises to feature local talent, rising stars and nationally known acts.
After opening with Durena, the fall schedule features Willie Barcena, Nick Colletti, Jessimae Peluso and Marc Anthony Sinagoga. Full schedules and tickets are available online at comedybar.com/pittsburgh.
