Here are some things to know as students in the North Hills School District start new year

This rendering early in the process offered a peek at what the renovated West View Elementary School would look like. The revamped school was unveiled Aug. 6 in time for its 100-year anniversary.

Students in grades 1-12 in the North Hills School District will return to school on Wednesday, Aug. 20. Kindergartners will have their first day on Aug. 22.

Holiday breaks: Thanksgiving, Nov. 26 to Dec. 1; winter, Dec. 24 to Jan. 2; spring, March 30 to April 3.

What’s new: All students in grades K-8 will be given a new iPad for the start of the school year.

West View Elementary School celebrated the end of its three-year renovation project on Aug. 6 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It coincided with the building’s 100-year anniversary.
