Members of the Community at Holy Family Manor will hold their annual “Mini Walk” on the organization’s campus in Ross Township at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7.
The event is held each year as a lead-up to the organization’s participation in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community on Pittsburgh’s North Shore later in the week.
Participants in the inter-generational Mini Walk will complete a tree-lined, 1/4-mile course on foot, in strollers and in wheelchairs.
Participants will include residents, students, staff and volunteers from Holy Family Manor’s Personal Care and Memory Care Unit, Nazareth Housing Services and the Mt. Nazareth Learning Center.
People who attend the event will have an opportunity to make a pledge in support of the participants.
Money raised from this year’s walk will be used for a prayer garden that includes a generations statue of the Holy Family with grandparents Joachim and Anna.
Some of the donations also will be used to replace the fencing around the playground at the Learning Center.
The campus is located at 301 Nazareth Way.
