The Allegheny County Medical Examiner has identified the male victim in Wednesday’s double shooting in McCandless.

A husband and wife died after the shooting in a parking lot of an apartment complex, according to Allegheny County Police.

Liam Donavon Mascarenas, 23, of Lakewood died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.

The Medical Examiner earlier this week identified the female victim, his wife, as Molly Beardsley of Allison Park.

Beardsley, 25, was shot in the head. Her death also was ruled suicide.

Police responded to the 700 block of Duncan Avenue around 8:15 a.m. and found Mascarenas behind a dumpster, already deceased.

Beardsley was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she died at 9:51 a.m.

Police said no one else was involved in the shootings and there was no danger to the area.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
