The Milk Shake Factory will celebrate the opening of a new location in the McCandless Crossing shopping center on Friday with a pep rally featuring Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier.

The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will include giveaways, a band, cheerleaders and a DJ.

The company also will honor Shazier with the debut of its new “Shalieve Shake” — a strawberry shake made with crushed cookies and cream, hot fudge and whipped cream that is topped with a chocolate “Shalieve” lion.

Milkshake Factory will donate $1 for every Shalieve Shake sold during September to Shazier’s newly created Shalieve Fight Foundation.

Shazier, 26, is recovering from a December 2017 back injury he suffered in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The first 250 people in line for the grand opening in McCandless can meet Shazier, who will be signing autographs.
