A welcome sign greets members of the Class of 1975 during their 45th reunion September 2021 at The Lodge in North Park. The reunion was delayed a year because of the pandemic, said Bob Blosat, chair of the NA Class of 1975 reunion committee.

The Class of 1975, the first graduates of North Allegheny Senior High School, is having a reunion from 5 to 10 p.m. Sept. 20 at Wildwood Country Club.

The day will begin at 10 a.m. with a tour of the “new” high school.

The event is for “any person who graduated or would have graduated from North Allegheny in 1975,” said Bob Blosat, chair of the NA Class of 1975 reunion committee.

This was the initial class to graduate from the present high school, formerly known as Wexford High School, according to Blosat.

“NASH opened on Sept. 4, 1974. So, that would make the Class of ’75 the first to graduate from the ‘new’ high school building,” said from Randy Gore, spokesperson for the school district.

Additionally, there was no Marshall Middle School.

“The year we graduated, Carson and Ingomar were the only two middle schools,” said Blosat, who has lived in McCandless all but 10 years of his life.

Tickets for the reunion are $75 per person and must be purchased in advance at na1975.com or by emailing Blosat at naalum1975@gmail.com.

There also will be a meet-and-greet starting at 5 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Cadence Clubhouse on Kummer Road in North Park. This event is open to North Allegheny graduates from 1974, 1975 and 1976.

A golf outing is planned for Sept. 18 at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course, with a time to be determined.

The class met for its 45th reunion in September 2021 at The Lodge in North Park; it was delayed a year because of the pandemic, Blosat said.

The committee works hard to keep in touch with its classmates, despite it being 50 years since graduation.

“We graduated with 788 classmates and maintain a database of all classmates and a Facebook page, North Allegheny Class of 75, with 212 members,” Blosat said.

The committee also has email addresses for 400 classmates used for communicating reunion information and is in the process of building a website, Blosat said.

Out of the 788 graduates, they are aware of 86 classmates who have passed away.

Blosat married his high school sweetheart, Barbara, who was from the North Allegheny Class of 1976.

“I have two sons who both graduated from North Allegheny. My youngest son also married a girl who graduated from North Allegheny, although they did not date in high school,” said Blosat, a retired health care executive.

Along with Blosat, the reunion committee members include Dorothy Arnold Welsh and her husband, Howard Welsh, both of Michigan; Zoltan Toth of Ross; Tom Sandherr, also of Ross; Pam Smith Maxson of McCandless; Bill Jones of Pine; Lynn Fletcher of Franklin Park; and Gary Welte of Arizona.
