Overnight shifts for work along a stretch of Brandt School Road in Franklin Park will be added this weekend, PennDOT announced.

In addition to the work being done from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, employees of Oakmont-based A. Folino Construction will be on site from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. July 17 and 18.

The work between West Ingomar Road and Corporate Drive will require periodic traffic stops. Flaggers will be stationed along the road to assist with traffic control.

The overnight work, which is being done to reduce the time needed to complete the project, required a waiver from Franklin Park’s noise ordinance. Nearby residents affected by the work are being notified.

The project, which is expected to last until August, includes shoulder work, installation of guardrails, pavement markings and signs.

The contractor has already completed drainage repairs, concrete rehabilitation, milling and paving, new curbs and sidewalks as part of the $4.3 million project.
