Two road repair projects in the North Hills will result in disruptions for motorists.
PennDOT announced that emergency work started this morning along Route 910/Gibsonia Road in Richland Township.
The project, which is expected to last until 5 p.m. on June 20, will require the road to be shut down in both directions near Turner Road between Route 8 and Middle Road.
Work includes drainage improvements, shoulder repairs and the construction of a block wall.
Passenger vehicles will follow a detour from Route 910 to Route 8 southbound, left onto East Hardies Road, left onto Middle Road and back onto 910.
Trucks will follow a detour from Route 910 onto Route 8 southbound, left onto Wildwood Road Extension, left onto Middle Road and back onto Route 910.
North Park paving
Allegheny County Public Works crews began a seven-month-long project to repave Pearce Mill Road in McCandless on June 14.
Work will start at 7 a.m. daily between Babcock Boulevard and Tennis Court Road. The project involves widening the road, installing additional bicycle and pedestrian lanes inside North Park, slope and drainage improvements and milling and paving.
Between June 14 and 16, motorists will encounter brief stoppages in work zones, which will be controlled by flaggers.
From June 17 through November, there will be single-lane closures. Northbound traffic will be detoured using Babcock Boulevard and Wildwood, East Ingomar, Kummer, McKinney and Brown roads.
Southbound traffic and vehicle access to all side roads and driveways will be maintained.
Once the major portion of the project is completed in November, short stoppages will resume for paving, line painting and other miscellaneous construction.
Pedestrians will have access to Pearce Mill Road at all times during construction.
