Carnival rides, a midway, food, a kiddie land, bingo, more food, live bands, dance companies and even more food will be part of an “amazing” summer festival that has become a tradition in the North Hills.

The St. Alexis Festival will take place July 12-15 from 6-11 p.m. on the St. Alexis campus, at 10090 Old Perry Highway, in McCandless.

“As one of the staple summer festivals in the North Hills, we are thrilled to be able to continue this amazing family tradition for this our 30th year. It is an event that so many people have memories of coming to when they were kids, that now bring their children to,” said Audrey Mackie, festival co-chair for 2023.

The festival is back in full swing this year after covid adjustments, Mackie said.

C&L Entertainment will provide carnival rides, including a Ferris wheel. A kiddie land will have games, bounce houses, activities and chances to win prizes.

Bingo will be offered nightly in addition to Texas hold’em, poker and games of chance; 50/50 tickets and tickets for numerous raffle prizes will be available for purchase.

On-stage entertainment includes live bands, dance companies and more.

Those who want to eat outdoors can chow down on carnival style foods, such as funnel cake and desserts. Indoor dining has returned and will be available July 13-15, featuring an Eastern European Inspired Night, Texas BBQ Night, and Italian Night. Indoor dining offers a large main meal and sides, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $14 for adults and $10 for children ages 3-10. Children ages 2 and under eat for free.

The Alexis Beer Garden will return for patrons 21 and over.

The annual Flea Market will be continue during the festival with hundreds of goods.

Festival-goers can park at North Allegheny Senior High School and take a shuttle bus at no charge. Signs will direct motorists, Mackie said, and the shuttles will run all evening.
