West View Councilwoman M. Kimberly Steele died on Wednesday, Nov. 26, following a 10-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was 72.

During her tenure on borough council, Steele had been president and was most recently vice president.

Born Mary Kimberly Watkins on March 29, 1953, Steele graduated from North Hills High School in 1971.

She worked for the Pennsylvania Legislature as chief of staff for 31 years, according to her obituary.
