North Park drive-in holiday laser show back for 3rd year with tickets on sale Nov. 17
Allegheny County’s holiday drive-in laser show is back for a third year, County Executive Rich Fitzgerald announced Wednesday, Nov. 16, with the first 45-minute light show being held on Dec. 9.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, Nov. 17, at noon.
The synchronized light show allows families to enjoy the lights with holiday music, right from their own vehicles.
“There are so many holiday traditions in our community that families embrace each year, and we’re thrilled to see so many residents embrace the drive-in laser show,” said Fitzgerald. “We’ve already heard from families who already have a visit to the laser show on their calendar for the 2022 Holiday Season.”
The drive-in laser show runs through Dec. 22 at the North Park Swimming Pool Parking Lot on South Ridge Drive. Visitors can choose from three session times Sunday through Thursday at 6, 7:30 or 9 p.m.; or four session times on Friday and Saturday at 6, 7:30, 9 and 10:30 p.m.
Each session accommodates 180 cars. Tickets are $20 per vehicle Sunday through Thursday and $25 per vehicle for the Friday and Saturday shows.
Space is limited and tickets can sell out.
People are urged to arrive 30-45 minutes before their time slot. People will need to show the QR code provided at the time of purchase – which can be shown on a smart phone or may be printed and brought to the event. Vehicles will be directed from the entrance. To hear the show they must tune in to 87.9 FM on their radio.
No commercial vehicles, including school buses, minibuses and limos, are allowed at the event. No concessions will be available on site, but visitors can bring snacks to enjoy in or at their vehicles.
The event will again benefit the Kane Foundation.
In 2021, nearly 9,700 vehicles and an estimated 38,000 people enjoyed the drive-in laser show. More than $63,000 was raised for the Kane Foundation. Over the life of the event, more than $133,000 has been raised to benefit the organization that raises funds to help enhance the quality of life for residents at the Kane Community Living Centers and their families. One hundred percent of all donations are devoted to gifts and enhancements for the Kane Centers and residents.
