A North Side man is accused of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl.
Pittsburgh police charged Robert James Crable, 67, of Perry South, with unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and endangering the welfare of a child, court records show.
Crable was arraigned early Friday and taken to Allegheny County Jail, court records show. District Judge Robert Paul Dzvonick set his bail at $25,000.
Police said they began investigating the alleged sexual assaults on July 28. Police interviewed the victim, who they did not name, on Aug. 8 at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh’s Child Advocacy Center.
The alleged sexual assaults took place in Crable’s North Side apartment, according to a criminal complaint filed in the case.
Two witnesses told police they confronted Crable about his behavior and he admitted his guilt, the complaint said.
