North Huntingdon has closed its offices in the Town House on Center Highway to the public beginning Friday and continuing until April 6 to prevent the spread of coronavirus that causes covid-19, the township said Thursday night.
North Huntingdon will not hold any public meetings while the building is closed to the public.
The police department and dispatching center will continue operations as usual.
The township’s parks will be open, but not the restrooms, the township stated.
While the playgrounds will be open, the township will not be sanitizing them.
For those with township business during this time, drop-off and pick-up boxes will be placed at the front entrance to the building.
North Huntingdon employees will work in “platoons,” with the offices staffed, but at a reduced level to permit social distancing. Those interested in contacting the township offices can call 724-863-3806. The township website at www.nhtpa.us has email addresses of the staff.
