Irwin fills assistant manager’s job
Irwin Borough has filled the vacancy created when its assistant manager resigned from her job in early October.
Borough council on Oct. 12 promoted Katelind Sartori, the full-time bill and lien supervisor and assistant code enforcement officer, to the assistant manager’s position at a salary of $45,501.
Sartori will replace Stacie Santimyer, who resigned from the job earlier this month.
Council President Rick Burdelski said that the borough will hire a replacement for Sartori’s former position. That salary will be $31,200.
Norwin OKs ad deals with law firm, non-profit, real estate firm
Those attending events at Norwin High School may see advertisements from a Pittsburgh law firm, an Irwin nonprofit and a real estate firm on chairs and scoreboards under a deal approved by the Norwin School Board.
Edgar Snyder & Associates purchased the naming rights to the 80 new folding gymnasium chairs and scoreboard for $27,000 for a three-year period, beginning Jan. 1. The advertisement will be placed on the back of the chairs and will be a piece of vinyl that can be removed, said Norwin Superintendent Jeff Taylor.
In addition to the folding chairs, the law firm will have a static display ad on the Norwin Knights Natatorium scoreboard, the baseball scoreboard, the main gymnasium scoreboard.
RE/MAX Heritage, a real estate firm in Murrysville, was approved to place its ad in the school district’s email notices to the community from Jan. 13 through June 2 for a fee of $300.
Come, Talk, Inc., an Irwin social service agency that seeks to help those in emotional distress, will pay $150 to advertise on the school district’s community emails through the end of 2022.
Webelos Day planned
Boy Scout Troop 257 is sponsoring a Webelos Day at 1 p.m. Oct. 23 at Oak Hollow Park, off Morris Avenue in North Huntingdon.
The children attending the event will learn about activities in which Webelos are involved.
