Lamp Theatre to host ‘Rocky Horror Show production

The Lamp Theatre at 222 Main St., Irwin, will host a full live production of Richard O’Brien’s classic “The Rocky Horror Show” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at midnight Saturday. The Lamp is producing it and Split Stage is casting and directing it.

Tickets are $25.

Parish to hold trunk or treat event

St. Agnes Parish at 11400 St Agnes Lane, North Huntingdon, will host an “All Saints Trunk or Treat” event from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Oct. 27.

Children are encouraged to come dressed in costume. Donuts and cider will be served.

All are welcome and no registration is required.

Downtown Irwin trick-or-treat

A store-to-store trick-or-treat and a Halloween costume parade is planned for Oct. 26 in downtown Irwin.

The trick-or-treat at stores will begin at 1 p.m. and registration for the parade will begin at 1 p.m., with the parade on Main Street to start at 3 p.m.

There will be prizes for best costumes. Special guests will be the Dancing Witches of Westmoreland County.

St. Stephen church to sell pirohi

St. Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church at 90 Bethel Rd., North Huntingdon, will have pirohi on sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, or until all are sold out.

The potato and cheese pirohi and sweet cabbage pirohi will sell for $12 a dozen. Sauerkraut pirohi is $14 a dozen. Lekvar will sell for $15 a dozen and sauerkraut will sell for $15 a dozen. Cottage cheese pirohi is $17 a dozen.

The church will sponsor a turkey bingo event at noon Nov. 3.

The cost is $20 for 20 games. There will be specials, paint-stick bingo and 50/50 extra.

Program set on surviving grief

The Community United Methodist Church along Route 130 in Harrison City will hold a free program, “Griefshare Surviving the Holidays” program from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 16 or 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 11 for those facing the upcoming holiday season after having suffered the loss of a loved one.

The programs are free and open to the public.

New trail created at Braddock’s Trail Park

The Friends of Norwin Trails will celebrate the opening of the Switch Board Trail at Braddock’s Trail Park at the end of Robbins Station Road in North Huntingdon at 1 p.m. Nov. 3.

Those who want to celebrate the trail opening can do it on foot or bicycle, said the Friends of Norwin Trails. There will be a ride out at 1:30 p.m., a run out at 1:45 p.m. and a hike out at 2 p.m.

Hot dogs and water will be available, as well as snacks.

Church to hold luncheon and vendor fair

The St. Agnes Christian Mothers and Ladies Guild will hold a salad luncheon and vendor fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 2 at the parish’s Resurrection Hall at 11400 St. Agnes Lane.

Luncheon tickets are $10 a person.

Bus trip planned to Ohio

A bus trip for a Big Band show in Columbiana, Ohio, is planned for Nov. 14.

The price is $175 per person and includes admission to the show and a luncheon.

The bus is scheduled to leave the Norwin Hills Shopping Center on Route 30 in North Huntingdon at 8:30 a.m. and return about 7:30 p.m.
