Norwin Community Picnic planned

A picnic and vendor area, food trucks, a bake sale, free children’s activities and game booths operated by local nonprofits will be among the many activities at the annual Norwin Community Picnic at Irwin Park on Aug. 3 beginning at 3 p.m.

There will be games of bingo from 3 to 5 p.m. The Norwin Public Library will offer free children’s activities and there will be a free photo booth.

A ducky race will be held in the tributary to Tinker’s Run along Irwin Park. Tickets are on sale at the Norwin Chamber of Commerce, at 321 Main St., Irwin.

There will be a prize drawing at 7 p.m. The picnic will be topped off with a free movie, Disney’s “Encanto,” at 8:45 p.m.

Free shuttle buses from Calvary Church on Pennsylvania Avenue, North Huntingdon, will be provided by First Student.

Those attending can being chairs and blankets to the park.

St. Agnes Church to hold movie night

The movie “Tangled” will be shown outdoors at St. Agnes Church, 11440 St. Agnes Lane, North Huntingdon, at 8:45 p.m. July 29.

Free snacks and games will begin at 8 p.m. In case of rain, the movie will be shown on July 30.

The movie is sponsored by Queen of Angels Catholic School in North Huntingdon.
