Norwin area: High school show; toy collection, breakfast with St. Nick, more
A drive-thru holiday music and laser light show will be held in the parking lot at the Norwin Knights Stadium, 11091 Mockingbird Drive, at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 26 and 27.
The Electric Light Fantasy Vol. II is open to those who make advanced reservations through the North Huntingdon Township Parks and Recreation Department because space is limited.

Air Force Junior ROTC to collect toys
The Norwin Air Force Junior ROTC cadets are sponsoring a drive-thru Toys for Tots collection from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 12 in the parking lot of Norwin High School near the Knights Stadium, 11091 Mockingbird Drive, North Huntingdon.
Those who want to donate should bring new, unwrapped toys during collection hours.
All toys and monetary donations will be delivered to Toys for Tots to be distributed to needy families in the area.

Tom’s Turkey donates to Norwin schools
Tom’s Turkeys, a North Huntingdon-based nonprofit which raises money for four area food pantries, recently donated $3,500 to the Norwin School District’s Operation Turkey.
Each of the district’s seven schools will receive $500 from Tom’s Turkeys.
Tom’s Turkeys supports food pantries at Oak Street in Irwin, the North Irwin Volunteer Fire Company, the Hartford Heights Volunteer Fire Department and Calvary Church on Pennsylvania Avenue. Tom’s Turkey’s also provides ALDI gift cards to needy families.
Those interested in donating Tom’s Turkeys can send donations to S&T Bank, 309 Main St., Irwin, PA 15642.
Breakfast with St. Nick
Children will have the opportunity to learn about St. Nick, the patron saint of children, during breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 4 at St. Agnes Church, St. Agnes Lane, North Huntingdon.
Children will be able to take photos with St. Nick, make cards and crafts, play games and do a service project.
The event is free, but families are encouraged to donate items to Catholic Charities’ baby closet. Diapers in sizes 3 to 5; wipes, onesies age six months and older, bibs, bottles and assorted gift cards are being sought.

Irwin makes appointments
Irwin council recently filled vacancies on the borough’s planning commission, zoning board and civil service commission.
William Snyder was appointed to a six-year term on the civil service commission and Tim Watson was tapped for a three-year term on the zoning hearing board.
The following persons were appointed to three-year terms on the planning commission: John Catanzaro, John Marrow and Anthony Marsiglio.
