Norwin paraprofessionals will receive $5 per hour raise
Paraprofessionals hired by the Norwin School District for the 2022-2023 school year will get a $5 per hour pay raise.
The Norwin School Board on March 21 agreed to increase the pay rate to remain competitive. The paraprofessionals are paid varying rates, depending on their jobs, said Superintendent Jeff Taylor. The district employs about 45 paraprofessionals.
The paraprofessionals assist teachers by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole.
The board also approved increasing the pay of seasonal workers to $13 an hour this summer, up from $10 an hour last year, because of the rising prevailing wages in the labor market
