Vietnam War veterans pinning ceremony slated

Vietnam War veterans will be able to receive a commemorative pin to honor their service during a ceremony at 2 p.m. March 31 in the J. Howard Snyder Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 781, Billott Avenue, North Huntingdon.

The ceremony is being held in conjunction with National Vietnam War Veterans Day.

Veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces between November 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975 — regardless of location — will be eligible to receive a lapel pin. Family members are invited to attend the ceremony with veterans.

Vietnam-era veterans wanting to attend the event should contact the Westmoreland County Department of Veterans Affairs at 724-830-3530.

Mon Yough Chorale welcomes new members

The Mon Yough Chorale is seeking singers for its spring session. Rehearsals are held on Sunday evenings, 7 to 9 p.m., at Sampson’s Mills Presbyterian Church, 1665 Lincoln Way, White Oak.

All voices are welcomed. No audition required.

Only fully vaccinated singers will be accepted at this time.

Bus trip to St. Patrick’s Church in Erie

Grandma Moose’s Happy Travelers is planning a bus trip to see St. Patrick’s Church a show in Erie on May 11.

Participants will see life-size Stations of the Cross and the Station Street Theatre Comedy, “A Ghost of a Chance.”

The bus will tour Pulako’s Chocolates and receive samples. A meal is planned for Sarah’s 1950’s-style diner.

The bus will leave from the Norwin Hills Shopping Center on Route 30 in North Huntingdon at about 7 a.m. and return in the evening.

The price is $165, with a deposit of $65. Payment is due April 8. Masks may be required.
