PAL to hold adult softball tournament
The Police Athletic League Norwin will hold its seventh annual one-pitch adult co-ed softball tournament from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 11 at the PAL Norwin Complex on Bridge Street in North Huntingdon.
The tournament is open to adults age 21 and older and the cost is $200 per team. First-and second-place finishers will receive trophies.
Players will be offered free hot dogs and beer. The concession stand will be open.
All proceeds will go toward PAL’s capital improvements fund.

Lutheran Church to hold rummage sale
The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, 1570 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 30 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 1.
Lancaster trip offered by ‘Grandma Moose’
Those interested in seeing “Queen Esther” at the Sight and Sound Theatre near Lancaster and “Mamma Mia” at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre in Lancaster on Sept. 14 and 15 can register for bus trip from the Irwin area.
The group will stay at the LaQuinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lancaster in Ronks, Lancaster County.
The bus will leave at 8 a.m. Sept. 14 at a site to be determined and will return on the evening of Sept. 15, said Virgie Smith of North Irwin, the organizer of the Grandma Moose’s Happy Travelers.
The trip will cost $390 per person, with a $100 deposit needed to register and the remainder paid by Aug. 15.
