Charges filed

• Bryan N. Hurley, 40, of Wendel, by North Huntingdon police with making a false statement for the purchase of a firearm and unsworn falsification to authorities. Hurley is accused of attempting to buy a gun at Pete’s Firearms of North Huntingdon and signing a federal Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms statement that he had not been convicted of a crime for which he could be imprisoned for more than a year. Hurley pleaded guilty in November 2012 to driving under the influence and could have been sentenced to five years in prison.

• Archie T. Robinson III, 30, of Munhall, by North Huntingdon police with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communications facility and providing law enforcement with false identification. Robinson allegedly identified himself as another man during a traffic stop along Route 30. Police say he had $1,050, 33 grams of crack cocaine and two bricks of heroin — about 100 stamp bags — labeled “Strike Dead” during a subsequent search.

• Amanda Hill, 40, of North Huntingdon, by township police with issuing bad checks and theft by deception. Hill wrote two checks, each in the amount of $760, for a trailer rental from a bank account that did not have sufficient funds.

• Brandon D. Kennedy, 38, of Stoystown, by North Huntingdon police with resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and retail theft. Kennedy allegedly stole candy from Sheetz store at Rhonda Court and ran from police, who found a hypodermic needle on him during a subsequent search.

• Andrew D. Woody, 26, of Irwin, by borough police with strangulation and simple assault. Woody is accused of grabbing a woman by her neck, choking her and slapping her in the face.
