Downtown Irwin will be the site of the 13th annual Sing for Their Supper and Craft Show, an annual fundraiser for the Westmoreland County Food Bank, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 12.
Those who think they have a great singing voice can entertain by singing along with a karaoke machine at the Harper Family Courtyard at The Lamp Theatre, 222 Main St.
Big Al will perform disc jockey duties during the event.
Those exhibiting crafts will be in the town’s parking lot.

Car cruise set for Irwin
Irwin will be the site of a different type of fall car cruise along Main Street from 3 p.m. to dark on Sept. 17.
The car cruise will not have a entry fee, nor will there be trophies or awards given to the owners of the cars. Restaurants and bars will be open.
Daddy G will be the disc jockey.
The Irwin Business and Professional Association, which is sponsoring the event, said that visitors are to practice social distancing and Centers for Disease Control guidelines.
Norwin cancels homecoming parade, dance
Norwin High School’s annual homecoming dance and the parade in Irwin are yet another casualty of the covid-19 restrictions.
The school district announced that the homecoming dance and the parade planned for Sept. 19, have to be canceled because of the rules against large gatherings.
Homecoming at the school will be celebrated the week of Sept. 28 to Oct. 2. There will be a homecoming king and queen and court that will be selected, but the traditional coronation ceremony occurs at the homecoming football game, will be held at a time to be determined later, school officials said.
