Karissa Miller, a Hampton High School graduate, recently participated in the United States National Roller Skating Championship, held each summer in Lincoln, Neb.
She skated in the Classic International Team dance event, where she garnered a Bronze Medal, and also skated in the Silver Ladies Loop event, earning another Bronze.
Karissa is a member of the Island Skate Club, out of Neville Roller Drome.
In addition to her skating achievements, she is going to be honored at Carlow University, from which she graduated in 2024, in a Walk of Fame ceremony. She was one of three senior students chosen to receive the award and will have her name placed on the sidewalk at the university with the other previous awardees.
Miller competed in the USA Roller Sports championship at age 11, and since then she’s racked up nine medals. She played tennis for four years at Hampton High School prior to her 2020 graduation.
Her mother, Hampton resident Kathy Frombach Miller, also is a champion roller skater.
