A Castle Shannon man was killed in a shooting Saturday night in McKees Rocks, authorities said.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office on Sunday identified the victim as William Hopkins, 34.

Police said they were dispatched to the 300 block of Ella Street at 10:38 p.m. First responders found Hopkins suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh’s North Side. Doctors pronounced him dead at 10:59 p.m., the medical examiner said.

Detectives are investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to call the County Police Tip Line 1-833-255-8477 (ALL-TIPS). Callers can remain anonymous.
