Police recovered a firearm and have charged a Donora man in connection with a West Elizabeth shooting on Saturday night that left one person dead and another wounded.

Allegheny County police responded to a 911 call of a shooting shortly after 10:30 p.m. at Beer Belly’s Bar on 5th Street in West Elizabeth. Police said one man was pronounced dead at the scene, and another was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The Allegheny County Medical Office identified 36-year-old Edward Gibson as the deceased man who was found in an outdoor area near the bar.

Jacob Snyder, 26, of Donora, was located in Jefferson Hills shortly after and taken into custody, according to police. He faces charges of criminal homicide, attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

A firearm registered to Snyder was recovered, officials said.

He was taken to Allegheny County Jail and awaits preliminary arraignment.
