Two Reserve residents, a Democrat and a Republican, ran together for two seats on the Shaler Area School Board, but only one was successful, according to unofficial Allegheny County election results.

In Shaler Area’s Region 1, Amy Goldberg, a Democrat who had both party nominations, was running with Republican Ken Vybiral as a “hometown team,” they said.

Vybiral, however, came in third for the race for two seats, according to results with 14 of 15 precincts reporting.

Democratic newcomer Deaja Baker of Millvale was the top vote-getter in Region 1, followed by Goldberg.

Results for all precincts were reported for the district’s Regions 2 and 3.

In Region 2, incumbent Democrat Elizabeth Dunn of Shaler was reelected over Republican challenger Ralph P. Koch, also of Shaler.

In Region 3, newcomer Robert S. Cessar was unopposed for a four-year seat on the board, while incumbent Edward J. Kress was unopposed for a two-year seat. They were each cross-filed.
