Deacon Nicholas Clinton of Saints Martha and Mary Parish will be ordained to the priesthood on June 29, 2024.

Deacon Nicholas Clinton of Saints Martha and Mary Parish is one of four men who will be ordained to the priesthood by Diocese of Pittsburgh Bishop David Zubik during a Mass of Ordination at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland.

The other future priests and their home parishes are John Ferguson, All Saints Parish; Deacon John Kist, Saint Michael the Archangel Parish; and Deacon Daniel Kushner, Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish.

The newly ordained priests will celebrate their first Masses the following day. Clinton’s is at 1:30 p.m. at St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 2554 Wildwood Road, Hampton.

Clinton graduated from Hampton High School in 2012 and earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Grove City College. In the fall of 2017, he was accepted into the priestly formation program to begin pre-theology studies at St. Paul Seminary and Duquesne University.

He was assigned to theological college at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., in August 2019, where he completed his first year of theological studies. In the summer of 2020, Clinton participated in the Summer Priestly Spirituality Program at St. Paul Seminary, and that fall, he transferred to St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe.

In June 2021, Clinton began his pastoral year assignment at Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish. In August 2022, he returned to St. Vincent Seminary, completing his third year of theological studies.

He was ordained to the diaconate on June 3, 2023, and assigned to Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish. In the fall of 2023, he returned to St. Vincent and completed his fourth year of theological studies.
