Richland Township officials have decided to cancel the annual Community Day celebration planned for Aug. 8 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“This difficult decision was made in an effort to maintain the safety of our residents, vendors and visitors,” township officials wrote in a notice posted on the municipality’s website.

Officials said they are looking forward to the popular event’s return in 2021.
