Pedestrian critically injured by vehicle in Oakland

A 71-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood.

The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. near the intersection of Forbes and Oakland avenues, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials.

First responders said they found the man unconscious with head injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital.

The driver remained on scene, public safety officials said. The incident remains under investigation.
