Police have arrested three men in the 2024 fatal shooting of a 21-year-old Penn Hills man.

Allegheny County Police on Thursday afternoon said they charged Trevor Twyman, 23, of Turtle Creek; Kelshon Lovelace, 24, of Wilkinsburg; and Lemoyne Williams, 18, of Monroeville, in the Dec. 5, 2024, shooting death of Vanderlee Stevenson.

The men are facing charges of homicide, conspiracy to commit homicide and gun counts, police said.

Stevenson was shot multiple times around 11:50 p.m. in the 200 block of Penn Hills’ Universal Road, which is a residential street just off Frankstown Road and about three miles from the Pittsburgh border, police said. A coroner’s report noted that Stevenson was shot in the torso and left thigh.

A caller told 911 that Stevenson was shot in front of the building, according to court documents. Emergency crews found him on the ground in front of a home near Penn Court Apartments. Stevenson was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

A witness told police that they traveled with Stevenson from his home to the address on Universal Road to meet “a few people.” On the drive over, Stevenson received a Facetime call from a man who said they were waiting for him, according to the court document.

The witness said Stevenson parked his vehicle and walked over to a dark-colored SUV and got in on the passenger side.

That’s when they heard muffled gunshots and saw two people run from the SUV, according to the criminal complaint. The pair got back into the SUV as it sped away.

Detectives collected, among other items, these from the scene: a dark-colored jacket, full-faced ski mask and a plastic cup.

The witness told police that Stevenson had grabbed a gun before leaving his house but that the gun was missing after the shooting, as was about $3,000 that Stevenson had on him.

Police said Twyman, who had been shot in the hand, arrived at a hospital a few hours after the shooting.

Twyman told police that he was at his girlfriend’s house in Homestead and went outside to smoke when he was struck in the hand by gunfire. He denied being involved in the Penn Hills shooting earlier.

Witness interviews and surveillance footage helped determine that Twyman and the two other men were responsible for the shooting, according to investigators in a 14-page criminal complaint.

Lovelace and Twyman were incarcerated Thursday on unrelated charges, county police said. Police said they took Williams into custody Thursday.

An Allegheny County judge sentenced Lovelace in 2024 to two years’ probation after he pleaded guilty to a drug possession charge, court records show. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail last year for allegedly violating the terms of his probation.

The most recent court records for Twyman show he pleaded guilty to a traffic violation last year.
