Allegheny County homicide detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting Sept. 9 at a gas station in Penn Hills.

Dante Benjamin Jones, 34, of Pittsburgh was killed at the Exxon station in the 4900 block of Allegheny River Boulevard shortly after 7:15 p.m., according to police.

Responding officers found Jones sitting inside his vehicle, according to police. Investigators said Jones was sitting in the driver’s seat when someone pulled up and shot him multiple times through the window of the vehicle.

Jones was taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Oakland where he later died of his injuries, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the medical examiner, who ruled the death a homicide.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant charging Michael D. Wade, 36, with criminal homicide. Wade has ties to Penn Hills and the North Side, police said.

Wade is Black, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds. Anyone who sees Wade is asked to call 911.
