Assault, DUI cases among those recently handled in Judge DeLuca’s Penn Hills court - Aug. 25, 2020
Penn Hills District Judge Anthony L. DeLuca handled the following cases recently. Defendants will have court dates set in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court. Charges were filed by Penn Hills police unless otherwise noted.
Held for court
• Andre Stanton, 39, of Penn Hills on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude officer, flight to avoid apprehension, driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle without required financial responsibility, failure to obey traffic control devices, improper pass, driving at unsafe speed, reckless driving and improper sunscreening. Charges were filed April 1.
• Phelix Nyawanga, 46, of Pittsburgh on charges of aggravated indecent assault of a child, unlawful contact with minor, engendering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old. Charges were filed May 12.
Waived preliminary hearings
• Byron Foster Jr., 37, of Monroeville on charges of driving under the influence and operating a vehicle without valid inspection. Wilkins police filed the charges March 21, 2019.
• Scott Hutsenpiller, 27, of Verona on charges of driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lane and careless driving. Charges were filed Dec. 26.
• Shane Kelley, 47, of Pittsburgh on charges of driving under the influence. Charges were filed Jan. 15.
• Mark Farneth, 59, of Arnold on charges of providing a materially false written statement in connection with the purchase/delivery/transfer of firearms and statement under penalty. Verona police filed the charges March 28.
• Ivan Brice, 19, of Swissvale on charges of attempted burglary, firearms not to be carried without a license, possession with intent to deliver, delinquent person not to possess firearms, resisting arrest, escape, possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of controlled substances and two counts of tampering with physical evidence. Charges were filed July 14.
• Jamour Hillard, 37, of Penn Hills on charges of simple assault and harassment. Charges were filed Aug. 7.
