Child endangerment, theft cases among those recently handled in Judge DeLuca’s Penn Hills court

Penn Hills District Judge Anthony L. DeLuca handled the following cases recently. Defendants will have court dates set in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court. Charges were filed by Penn Hills police unless otherwise noted.

Waived preliminary hearings

• Oto Lawrence, 55, of Penn Hills on charges of endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person. Charges were filed April 29.

• Kori Hopf, 28, of Towanda on charges of accident involving damage to attended vehicle/property, driving under the influence and operating a vehicle without required financial responsibility. Charges were filed June 14.

• Rashad Newsom, 22, of Pittsburgh on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude officer, failure to stop at red signal, failure to keep right, improper pass, passing on left unsafe, not yielding at roadway, driving at unsafe speed, careless driving and reckless driving. Charges were filed Aug. 21.

• Nickeya Mitchell, 51, of Pittsburgh on charges of theft by unlawful taking. Wilkins police filed the charges Sept. 19.
