DUI, drug cases among those recently handled in Judge DeLuca’s Penn Hills court - Jul. 1, 2019

Penn Hills District Judge Anthony L. DeLuca handled the following cases recently. Defendants will have court dates set in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court. Charges were filed by Penn Hills police unless otherwise noted.

Held for court

  • Brandon Murray, 36, of Penn Hills on charges of knowingly possess ephedrine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substances and possession with intent to deliver. State Attorney General’s Office filed the charges May 29.
  • Tyler Sweetwood, 23, of Ephrata on charges of possession of controlled substances, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and knowingly possess ephedrine. State Attorney General’s Office filed the charges May 29.
  • Aziz Poter, 21, of Pittsburgh on charges of firearms not to be carried without a license, person not to possess firearms and carrying a loaded weapon. State Attorney General’s Office filed the charges May 30.
  • Darnell Bennett, 22, of Pittsburgh on charges of possession of controlled substances. State Attorney General’s Office filed the charges May 30.

Waived preliminary hearings

  • Darci Cincarik, 35, of Verona on charges of simple assault and harassment. Charges were filed Oct. 18.
  • David Jeffries Jr., 33, of Verona on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substances, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities and two counts of possession with intent to deliver. Charges were filed May 3.
  • John Scafuri, 47, of Apollo on charges of possession of controlled substances, driving under the influence and accident involving damage to unattended vehicle or property. Charges were filed June 19.
