DUI, drug charges among those handled in Judge DeLuca’s Penn Hills court May 10, 2021

Penn Hills District Judge Anthony L. DeLuca handled the following cases May 10. Defendants will have court dates set in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court. Charges were filed by Penn Hills police unless otherwise noted.

Held for court

• Diorr Grier-Phillips, 22, of Penn Hills on charges of firearms not to be carried without a license, possession of marijuana and providing false identification to law enforcement. Charges were filed Sept. 23.

• Megan Maksin, 29, of Monroeville on charges of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, exceeding maximum speed limits and careless driving. State police filed the charges July 24.

• Shawn Mitchell, 46, of Verona on charges of terroristic threats and harassment. Verona police filed the charges Oct. 19.

• Brian Koza, 41, of West Mifflin on charges of driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to stop at a red signal and reckless driving. Charges were filed March 9.

• Khadijah Latham, 26, of Penn Hills on charges of simple assault and harassment. Charges were filed March 21.

• Michael Manno, 46, of Penn Hills on charges of unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communication facility, corruption of minors and dissemination of sexually explicit materials involving minors. Allegheny County police filed the charges April 27.

Waived preliminary hearings

• Nicholas Canovali, 28, of Pittsburgh on charges of possession of controlled substances, driving under the influence, driving at unsafe speed, careless driving and restrictions on alcoholic beverages. Charges were filed Dec. 25.
