Multiple fire departments responded to a two-alarm blaze at this Penn Hills home along Upland Terrace.

American Red Cross is assisting at least three Penn Hills residents with shelter after fire destroyed their house Wednesday evening.

Penn Hills Volunteer Fire Co. No. 5 Assistant Chief Mike Stadelman said no one was injured battling the two-alarm blaze at 8910 Upland Terrace shortly before 7 p.m.

He said one of the residents told the Penn Hills fire marshal they had something cooking on a stove in the first-floor kitchen, left and came back to find their house on fire.

Stadelman said the fire spread to the second and third floors.

The home is believed to be a total loss.

Firefighters from Churchill, Verona and Oakmont also responded.
