Here are some upcoming programs at Penn Hills Library
The Penn Hills Library, 1037 Stotler Road, offers a variety of programs for all ages.

Registration is required for the following programs unless otherwise indicated; however, the following teen programs do not require registration. To register for any of the programs, visit the website and click on the events tab to view an interactive calendar.
Here are some upcoming highlights:
CHILDREN
• Prada the Therapy Dog (all ages): 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 5. Prada, an American Staffordshire terrier, is an American Kennel Club-licensed therapy dog who loves snuggles and listening to stories. No registration is required.
• Read and Craft: Pete the Cat (ages 6-11): 1 to 1:45 p.m. April 5. Join us for fun read-alouds followed by an art project inspired by the Pete the Cat books.
• Maker Lab: Button Maker (ages 6-11): 5 to 5:45 p.m. April 1. In this Maker Lab session, grab a challenge card and learn to make buttons of different styles with the button maker. See if you can collect them all. Registration is required.
• Children’s Cinema … “PAW Patrol: The Movie”: 1 p.m. March 22. Join us for a children’s movie watch party, snack and craft. This month, we will feature 2021’s “PAW Patrol: The Movie,” rated PG. Registration is required.
TEENS (grades 6-12)
The library offers a variety of books in its Teen Space about college preparation, essay writing, SAT and ACT preparation, and school subjects that can be checked out at any time. Teens also have free access to tutoring help at tutor.com using their library card; instructors are available on a wide variety of school subjects. Teens also have access to language learning resources such as Duolingo and Mango with ther library card. For details, stop by the Teen Space.
• Spell It!: Racing Relay: 3:30 to 5 p.m. March 26. Bring your running shoes, and join us outside for our musical chairs-inspired relay game.
• Teen Space Decorating: Spring Flowers: 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 1. Help us decorate the Teen Space with one-of-a-kind seasonal art. No registration is required.
• STEM: Lego Zipline Racing: 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 7. Join us for fun STEM experiments! Today, build a contraption out of Legos that can win in a zipline race. No registration is required.
• Teen Egg Hunt: 1 to 2 p.m. April 12. Join us for an outdoor egg hunt.
ADULTS
• Rock Talks: Great Music Inspired by Great Literature: 6 to 7 p.m. March 24. Come see and hear how extraordinary works of literature have inspired some extraordinary songs. Registration is required.
• Penn Hills Peace Coalition: 6 to 7 p.m. April 1. Join the Penn Hills Peace Coalition in discussing methods to support violence prevention in Penn Hills. No registration is required.
• True Crime Week: “Evelyn Nesbit and the First Trial of the Century”: 6 to 7 p.m. April 7. Kick off the library’s True Crime Week by learning about Nesbit’s fascinating journey from celebrated model and actress to the subject of the nation’s first “Trial of the Century.” Other subjects will be explored throughout the week — April 8: Pittsburgh Mafia; April 9: Gangs and Outlaws of Western Pa.; April 10: Pittsburgh’s Vice Queens; and April 11: Identity Theft. Registration is required for all of the sessions.
ALL AGES
• Community Fridge Restock: 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and 11 a.m. to noon Fridays. The fridge and freezer are stocked with fresh vegetables, meal kits, milk and dairy products, juice and more. The pantry shelves include canned goods, snacks and breakfast items, as well as menstrual products and diapers.
• Live @ the Library: Music Cafe: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 29. Join us for a fun-filled day featuring an Instrument Petting Zoo by UniSound, a special musical performance by Louie Castle, an eco-friendly craft and a hot cocoa bar in the cafe. No registration is required.
• Puzzle Exchange: 10 to 11 a.m. April 5. Bring in an old puzzle and find a new one at our puzzle exchange.
• Diapers and Books Giveaway: 4 to 6 p.m. April 16. Free diapers and menstrual products will be distributed during the library’s Community Fridge restock. Visit them in the cafe to learn more and get some products to take home.
