Human skeletal remains found in Penn Hills

The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to a request for assistance Sunday after county 911 was notified of the finding of human skeletal remains in Penn Hills.

The notification came at about 3:40 p.m. after the remains were found in a wooded area in the 1600 block of Brushton Avenue. Homicide detectives along with the Medical Examiner were called to the scene and initiated an investigation, according to Allegheny County Police.

Anyone with information concerning the incident is urged to call the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
