EMS contract approved

Penn Hills School District officials approved a new contract with Penn Hills EMS for the 2023-24 school year.

The district will pay the ambulance company $500 per event to have one ambulance with two crew members at all home varsity football games and commencement.

Transportation sought

Penn Hills School District officials approved seeking proposals for student transportation services. Proposals are due to the administrative office at 260 Aster St. by 1 p.m. Oct. 11. The current contract with Krise Transportation is set to expire June 30, 2024.

Augtoberfest

Inner Groove Brewing in Verona presents its inaugural Augtoberfest 2-9 p.m. Aug. 26 at the taproom, 751 E. Railroad Ave. The event features performances from two German polka bands and food from Jackie Kennedy Catering. Admission is free. Several special German beers will be served. Food services will be from 2-7 p.m. Menu includes bratwurst, sauerkraut, potato salad, pretzels and cheese. More information is available at innergroovebrewing.com.
