Penn Hills Masonic Lodge (Infinity Lodge No. 546) is partnering with Verona’s Masonic Lodge (Verona Lodge No. 548) to host a Trunk or Treat 5-7 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Penn Hills Masonic Center, 5793 Saltsburg Road, Verona. For more information, visit infinity freemasons.com.
Penn Hills Library
Health Week at the library is the last week of September. There will be a variety of programs about health and wellness including “Alzheimer’s: 10 Warning Signs,” “Age-Friendly Pittsburgh,” and “The History of Pittsburgh’s EMTs” with John Moon of Freedom House in the Hill District. Check out the monthly calendar for more information.
September is Love Your Library Month,which means that every donation made to Penn Hills Library is partially matched by the Jack Buncher Foundation. You can make donations in-person or online. Also, be sure to grab a Love Your Library yard sign next time you visit us.
Compete in quick rounds of Mario Party at the library at 1 p.m. Sept. 23. Feel free to bring your Nintendo Switch and a copy of the game as well.
Come to the library at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 25 to make a custom garden that you never have to water — your own faux cactus terrarium.

Zoning hearing board
Penn Hills zoning hearing board will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at Penn Hills Government Center. There are agenda items on Jordan Avenue and Lowell, Briarwood, Orchard and Marathon drives.
Transportation sought
Penn Hills School District officials approved seeking proposals for student transportation services. Proposals are due to the administrative office at 260 Aster St. by 1 p.m. Oct. 11. The current contract with Krise Transportation is set to expire June 30, 2024.
