50th class reunion
Penn Hills High School Class of 1973 will hold its 50th reunion on from 5-11 p.m. Oct. 6, 2023, at Futules’ Harmar House in Harmarville.

Pre-K Counts applications
Parents of 3- or 4-year-olds in Penn Hills School District can apply for a high-quality pre-K program (free of charge for those who qualify) at Penn Hills High School.
Teachers are certified in early childhood education, and the classrooms provide a safe, well-equipped learning environment with a curriculum designed to help children prepare for kindergarten. Applications are open for the 2022-23 school year. Apply online at privateindustrycouncil.com or call 724-437-2590 for an application.
AARP Chapter 2600 to meet April 14
The Penn Hills Chapter of AARP will meet at 1 p.m. April 14 in the Barclay Building of Hebron Presbyterian Church.
The speaker will be state Sen. Jay Costa, who represents the 43rd District (part of Pittsburgh and East Hills communities). Costa’s legislative record of accomplishments includes the areas of education, family law, judicial reform, public safety, job creation and health care. A fellowship time of coffee, tea and cookies will be available between noon and 1 p.m. Proof of covid vaccination is required.
Plum Area Ladies Society
Plum Area Ladies Society will hold their final Ladies Day Out at Brushes and Beans Cafe in Murrysville, a coffee shop and ceramics craft venue. On April 23, signed-up members will meet there at 11 a.m. to have breakfast and coffee and paint ceramics.
PALS is a service and social club open to ladies from Plum, Penn Hills, Monroeville and the surrounding communities. Newcomers are welcome to attend meetings, always held at Plum Community Center at 6:30 on the first Wednesday of the month, September through April.
