Kennywood Picnic

Ticket sales will be online this year for the Penn Hills School District’s Kennywood Picnic happening May 28.

The School Ticket price will be $29 with processing fees for tickets purchased online using your school district’s URL. These prices are more than a 50% savings on the full-price weekend admission of $59.99.

Ticket sale information is made available before in-school sales, as well as the URL alternative.

Pirohi order reservations

The Church of the Resurrection in Monroeville is making pirohi May 19. You may call 412-372-9415 now until May 16 to reserve your order. It is $9 per dozen, potato or sauerkraut. Pickup will be May 19 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Student news

• Rachel Schweitzer, a junior interior architecture and design major from Pittsburgh, was among approximately 665 Bob Jones University students named to the spring 2021 president’s list.

The president’s list recognizes students who earn a 3.75 or higher GPA for the semester.

• Marietta College’s Vincent Tassari of Verona was recently elected to be junior representative for the 2021-22 Student Government Association on campus. Elections were held in April.

Tassari, a graduate of Central Catholic High School, is majoring in environmental engineering and is scheduled to graduate in May 2023.

Class reunion

The Penn Hills High School Class of 1976 will hold its 45th reunion June 25-27.

There will be a buffet dinner at 7 p.m. June 25 at the Comfort Inn Grand Ballroom, 180 Gamma Drive. Tickets are $45 each until May 21. Rooms are $80 each at the group rate.

On June 26, the class is gathering from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Rosedale Beach Club, 5407 Third St., to swim and socialize.

Nonmembers can enter as guests for $5. No advanced ticket or reservations are needed.

On June 27, there will be a live band and cash bar at the Fox Chapel Baja Club from 1 to 6 p.m.

The Nieds Hotel Band, a Penn Hills-rooted band, will be holding a fundraiser. A voluntary donation is suggested at the door.
