Student news

Anthony Vehec has been named to the Southern New Hampshire University president’s list for the summer 2021 semester. Full-time students who have earned a minimum GPA of 3.700 or above are named to the president’s list. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits.

Plum Creek restoration project

The Penn Hills Shade Tree Commission’s third and final planting along Plum Creek in Penn Hills Community Park will be Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. (rain date Sept. 26).

Join the group as they plant 30-35 native trees and shrubs, fence them from the deer and broadcast a seed mix of native grasses and wildflowers.

The Shade Tree Commission and Parks and Rec department will provide bottled water and snacks. Please bring a shovel. Contact Kathy Raborn at PennHillsSTC@gmail.com for more information.

Class of 1975 reunion

The Penn Hills High School Class of 1975 will celebrate its 45/46-year reunion from 6 to 11 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Green Oaks Country Club, 5741 Third St., Verona, PA 15147. The cost is $45 per person or $80 per couple. The reunion will feature hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and a DJ.

The Class of ’75 also will have a free picnic Sept. 26 at noon at the Penn Hills Park main pavilions. Attendees should bring their own food and beverages. Paper products will be supplied.

Women’s Business Network

Women’s Business Network is an award-winning business association that supports the success and growth of women in business. WBN provides members with the tools to be successful.
