Donations received
Penn Hills School District officials recently accepted 10 boxes of school supplies from United Way for the elementary school.
Supplies included pencils, crayons, colored pencils, pens, markers, construction paper, notebooks, paper, tissues, sanitizers and glue sticks.
The district recently received 240 adult and youth sized cotton masks donated by the Pennsylvania School Board Association.
Partnership approved
Penn Hills School District recently approved a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh to help mentor third- and fourth-grade students.
There is no cost to the district. The partnership also includes virtual programming because of the covid-19 pandemic.
The charity will screen all of its volunteers and help school officials identify students who would benefit from the program.
