Penn Hills students celebrate Veterans Day
Penn Hills School District students celebrated Veterans Day by learning about the military and those who have served via several different activities.
Middle-school students watched a video on Congressional Medal of Honor recipients. There was an optional assignment of having the young learners do research and write an article about them.
Some students created posters highlighting the different branches of the military while others posted videos and had other discussions.
The elementary school’s annual veterans’ lunch was canceled because of the covid-19 pandemic. Students instead created a virtual slideshow to showcase local veterans.
Photos of the kindergarten craft to honor veterans were posted on the district’s Facebook page.
